Suphanburi
is a historical site with at least 3,500-3,800 years of historical evidence, the historical sources being found in this area dated back to Neolithic, Bronze Age and Metal Age and deliberately passed on the culture from the Suvanabhumi, Fahan, Amaravadee, Dvaravati and Srivijaya. In the Ayutthaya era, Suphan Buri was a frontier and a major farmland. The city had many wars, the town had been ruined, as well as its history and sources, until Rattanakosin period, Suphan Buri has been reformed and developed, then located on the east side of Tha Chin River (Suphan Stream) until today.
The importance of Suphan Buri in its history is the salvation of the independence of Thailand in Ayutthaya period, the victory of the King Naresuan the Great over Uparaja at the elephant duel of Don Chedi, the great heroic battle inscribed.
