ดวงตราเป็นภาพยุทธหัตถีระหว่างสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราชกับพระมหาอุปราชาแห่งพม่าเหตุที่ใช้เครื่องหมายนี้ก็เพราะเห็นว่า การศึกครั้งนี้ ใน พ.ศ.2135 ทำให้เมืองไทยได้รับอิสรภาพชัยชนะดังกล่าว ได้เผยแพร่ชื่อเสียงและกิตติคุณของพระมหากษัตริย์ไทย ออกไปนอกประเทศ และบริเวณที่กระทำยุทธหัตถีก็อยู่ในท้องที่อำเภอดอนเจดีย์ของจังหวัดนี้ สุพรรณบุรีเป็นเมืองเก่าสมัยทวารวดี นักโบราณคดีกล่าวว่า ชื่อสุพรรณบุรีเปลี่ยนมาจากคำว่า อู่ทองและสุพรรณภูมิ

The seal image of the elephant duel between King Naresuan the Great and Uparaja,the King of Burma is the logo for the province.The battle in 2135 B.E. had given the independence for Thailand, this victory represent reputation and eminence of the Thai monarchy abroad also the area where the elephant duel happened is located in the district of Don Chedi. Suphan Buri is an old city of Dvaravati which some archaeologists said that the name Suphanburi had changed from U Thong and Suphannaphumi.

省府标志为纳瑞宣大帝与緬甸副王的象战，使用此图画的原因，是因为此次战争于佛历2135 年，使泰国获得独立，及泰国国王的名声，被传扬到国外，及象战的战场，位于素攀武里府的唐佛塔，是陀罗钵地时代的古城，考古学家说，素攀武里的名称，是从武通及素攀彭改变而来。
